The Meaning of Thanks

When Alissa asked me to write a thankful post I thought it was a beautiful way to celebrate Thanksgiving but as I got ready to write the post I was overwhelmed with how to put it writing all of the gratitude I feel.  So I started by thinking about what the word Thankful means to me and started making a list.  I came up with Grateful, Blessed, Appreciative, and Pleased so then I went to thesaurus.com and found other words such as Positive Attitude, Emotion, Bestowed Upon and Favored.  Extremely powerful words when you think about them individually or all of them collectively.

So I decided to take each one individually.  Throughout my life I have been blessed with people who support me in whatever endeavor I take on.  My parents and my husband couldn’t be more supportive of me and for that I am eternally grateful.  I also have many friends that have bestowed upon me their love that I couldn’t begin to thank them for all the blessings they give me daily.  I am truly appreciative to have a job, a home I love and our cat Sylvester even when my attitude is less than positive due to a bad day or whatever I come home to be see all that I have and try to remember to be thankful for all the gifts in my life that can’t be wrapped in gift wrap and topped with a bow.

On this day of Thanksgiving let us all remember our blessings and be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. You could gift wrap Arthur and then put a bow on his head. It might make for a nice photo for your blog in fact. LOL.

    Enjoy, Happy Thanksgiving!
