The Meaning of Thanks

When Alissa asked me to write a thankful post I thought it was a beautiful way to celebrate Thanksgiving but as I got ready to write the post I was overwhelmed with how to put it writing all of the gratitude I feel.  So I started by thinking about what the word Thankful means to me and started making a list.  I came up with Grateful, Blessed, Appreciative, and Pleased so then I went to and found other words such as Positive Attitude, Emotion, Bestowed Upon and Favored.  Extremely powerful words when you think about them individually or all of them collectively.

So I decided to take each one individually.  Throughout my life I have been blessed with people who support me in whatever endeavor I take on.  My parents and my husband couldn’t be more supportive of me and for that I am eternally grateful.  I also have many friends that have bestowed upon me their love that I couldn’t begin to thank them for all the blessings they give me daily.  I am truly appreciative to have a job, a home I love and our cat Sylvester even when my attitude is less than positive due to a bad day or whatever I come home to be see all that I have and try to remember to be thankful for all the gifts in my life that can’t be wrapped in gift wrap and topped with a bow.

On this day of Thanksgiving let us all remember our blessings and be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. You could gift wrap Arthur and then put a bow on his head. It might make for a nice photo for your blog in fact. LOL.

    Enjoy, Happy Thanksgiving!
