My friend, Lizzy, who gave me the inspiration to start blogging again at the beginning of this year has entered a cookie contest over at My First Kitchen. (Hers are the fabulous gingersnaps pictured to the left and are the 7th listed on the voting page under the name Elizabeth.)
I have found blogging to be a wonderfully creative outlet and have really enjoyed sharing and interacting with all of you.
So, as a little "thank you" to Lizzy for lighting the fire under this here blog--I'd like to ask you to take a moment of your time today or anytime between now and December 28 to hop on over to the contest and vote for her. You can vote for her once a day, starting today until the contest ends on December 28.

The Meaning of Thanks
When Alissa asked me to write a thankful post I thought it was a beautiful way to celebrate Thanksgiving but as I got ready to write the post I was overwhelmed with how to put it writing all of the gratitude I feel. So I started by thinking about what the word Thankful means to me and started making a list. I came up with Grateful, Blessed, Appreciative, and Pleased so then I went to thesaurus.com and found other words such as Positive Attitude, Emotion, Bestowed Upon and Favored. Extremely powerful words when you think about them individually or all of them collectively.
So I decided to take each one individually. Throughout my life I have been blessed with people who support me in whatever endeavor I take on. My parents and my husband couldn’t be more supportive of me and for that I am eternally grateful. I also have many friends that have bestowed upon me their love that I couldn’t begin to thank them for all the blessings they give me daily. I am truly appreciative to have a job, a home I love and our cat Sylvester even when my attitude is less than positive due to a bad day or whatever I come home to be see all that I have and try to remember to be thankful for all the gifts in my life that can’t be wrapped in gift wrap and topped with a bow.
On this day of Thanksgiving let us all remember our blessings and be thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving!
