Capture the Everyday: What's on your nightstand?

Melissa over at Adventuroo (a blog I'd highly recommend you go check out right now!) has started a new project on Thursdays helping us all "Capture the Everyday". I'll be posting photos on Thursdays in response to the prompts she issues the week before. If you blog, come play along.

This weeks photo challenge was, "What's on your nightstand?".

The light is a paper lantern light from IKEA, bamboo place mat from Target, caffeine-free Diet Coke for bedtime, BONK by Mary Roach*,  and alarm clock which I don't have to use too often. Liam usually does that for me via the monitor which is curiously absent from this picture.

*BONK is good but her book "Packing from Mars" is way better.

What's on your nightstand?

  3. I really like your lamp/placemat combo. Very zen! And I hear you on the alarm clock. Our toddler usually beats mine to the punch.

  4. How I long to live a simplified life as reflected by your nightstand. My nightstand actually does reflect my life so go figure.

And ooh, you're blog is so PRETTY!!

  5. @ Stay At Home Babe: I confess to tidying mine up a bit. I love the honesty of yours.

@ Melissa: Thanks for putting this whole thing together. Love it!

@ Suzanne: Thanks. Glad I'm not the only one with a built in toddler alarm clock. Grin.

@ all.things.fadra: Thanks. My nightstand gives me a life to strive for.

PS-I really dig that lamp. Must. Find. It.

  9. The Bamboo mat is such a genius idea for keeping dust away. I might have to steal it.

  10. @Crazy Me: Thanks, we try to keep our house zen/Japanese inspired. Our bed is actually lower than the table. Makes it super easy for the little guy to climb up for a snuggle though, which is nice.

  11. @CrunchyVTMommy: I go through phases where I read and I'm definitely into her stuff right now. I like good non-fiction for the most part.

  15. I love your lamp! I hate the one on my nightstand, but haven't found anything to replace it. I have lamp envy in a lot of the nightstand pics.

  16. You look so organized... and zen. You're making me jealous :) I don't have a nightstand, but I do have a pile of crap on the floor next to my bed, and it is nowhere near as organized as your nightstand!
