Two Words:
Gwyneth Paltrow
One Sentiment:
Best part of this box set, bar none!
She has a guest spot this season as a substitute teacher for Will (Matthew Morrison) in episode 7 (on the second disk) and it's fantastic. I love the numbers, I love her character and I love that she look a risk and had fun with it. My favorite part was the Singing in the Rain mash-up that occurs at the end of the episode. So good.
In addition to the lovely Ms. Paltrow, we get to see a lot more of Brittany (Heather Morris). She has a fabulous episode devoted entirely to her musical and fabulous dance stylings where she remakes several classic Britney Spears videos.
I really enjoyed GLEE: Season Two/Volume 1 in that it lets us see a lot more of the secondary characters on the show which provides for some great singing (as always) and some new interesting twists in the plot line.
In addition to the 10 full-length episodes there are some fabulous extras in this compilation as well. The GLEE Jukebox will have you coming back again and again to listen to all the great songs from the season. If I had a desk job, I could completely imagine playing this over and over again to get me through the work day. Additionally it makes an excellent last minute karoake game on a Friday night.
I also really enjoyed the feature showcasing most of the cast speaking on a panel at Comic-Con 2010. I love that they all seem to have a great joy in working on the show and in working together. They all seem to take everything in stride and showed great class and humor.
