PIF: Day Eleven

Pay It Forward: Day Eleven

Today I picked up a little something to send to a friend who could use a little TLC. No spoilers here, so I won't talk about it until they get it. I love care packages though. I like to make 'em big and small. I think unexpected packages have a way of cheering all of us up a little.

And, we take a classmate and friend of Little Dude's to her grandmother's after school twice a week. So that counts, no?

This really is a lot more challenging than I thought it would be. I'd like to do more things that are don't involve money. We'll see if I can make that happen.

Take a moment to pay it forward to someone.

  1. I love that you are spending this month paying it forward. I too am a big believer in the concept and wish it didn't seem to always revolve around money.

  2. The money thing is something I am really becoming aware of. I thought about getting a $5 coffee card and sticking it in my bill at a restaurant tonight along with my tip, but I really want to find other ways. Money is good, but I don't want it to be the end all be all.

And, I've stopped really counting opening doors for people and such, since I have decided that it only counts if it's something that I wouldn't ordinarily do.

  3. Alissa, I think the reason this is a challenge for you is because you ordinarily do so many nice things for people! XO

  4. I thought it was challenging enough to blog daily (something I still haven't been able to do!) but, practicing random acts of kindness and hoping someone will pay it forward on top of that for a full month... wow. That's incredible! However, don't underestimate yourself. You do practice this daily and don't even realize it. And if it's any consolation, simply reading about your PIF adventures has worked on me. Yesterday, I randomly picked up a chocolate shake for a good friend who was having a rough week with her monthly curse, ex husband and yesterday, ended up sick with a sore throat. She cried tears of happiness when I dropped it off. You are an inspiration, my friend. Keep up the awesome work.

  5. Alissa- this is a great idea, I love it! I am going to read these to the kids because I am sure they'll love it and want to do it, which will help keep me doing it :-). Love that picture of Liam, he is so adorable :-)
