I Spy With My Little Eye

Every year at Christmas my family would make the long trip south from Michigan to Missouri to visit my mom's parents. We'd have an early Christmas with the local grandparent and then head out bright and early the next day for our trek south.

My parents would wake us up in the wee hours of the morning having already removed the back row of seats in our Ford Econoline van. Then, they'd lie us down in our sleeping bags and set off. Once we woke up we'd amuse our selves with a number of "car games". One of the best games was the old standby I Spy. It's a never ending game and can be played anywhere by all ages.

Liam stumbled upon an I Spy book in our local library somewhere around his 2nd birthday and he was hooked. He loves to check them out and we can easily spend 30-40 minutes with a book looking for things by color, shape, etc. We also play this game endlessly in the car. Once he told us he was looking for "a red eyed tree frog in a purple tree". Nothing like being very specific, eh?

With that in mind, you can just imagine the squeal that was heard around our neighborhood when BRIARPATCH sent us the I SPY BINGO game to test out over Labor Day weekend. It was a very very happy day in this household!

The game is for 2-6 players and is intended for children ages 4 and up. Although our 3 year old really enjoys playing it. On occasion we even play it multiple times in a given day.

Each player is given a bingo board (two-sided for beginning and advanced play) and inside each square on the board are several items to find. Using the cards provided (also two-sided for beginning and advanced play) each player takes a turn choosing a card and an item from the card for other players to find. The first to collect four in a row shouts B-I-N-G-O!

We love that this game teaches problem solving, letter recognition, and can be used as an early reading primer or just for fun.

This is the perfect gift for the little ones in your life. And, BRIARPATCH is giving TWO winners a chance to play this game with their families. Perfect to surprise your little one with or to save up for the upcoming holidays.
