Bump in the Night

Oooh...if only you could have been a fly on the wall of my living room Saturday night.

The hubs was out with the guys playing poker, Little Dude had long been dreaming of sugar plums in his crib, and I had just finished a few hours working to tame the inbox when I decided to call it a night.

I came up from the basement (completely sober) and headed over to the foyer to turn off the light. This was the beginning of the end as it were. I stared at the light switch in the "off" position for a good 40 seconds trying to figure out how the lights were "on" if the switch was "off".

"Hey Genius!! The lamp on the other side of the room is on."

So, I walked over to the other side of the room, clicked off the light and went to head upstairs with the monitor, a book and soda (of course).

This my friends is where in complete darkness I tried to climb the bookcase FOUR times. Not once, not twice, not three times but FOUR TIMES I tried to climb the bookcase before I realized that they were not in fact stairs.

Some days I'm a special kind of superstar.

  2. @ Jodi: I think I actually gave myself a bruise from trying to force the bookshelves to be stairs. Sigh. :P
