Last week as Liam and I were driving home from lunch with friends I noticed that he was saying "Witches Dance" over and over again. Here's how the rest of the conversation went.
Liam: Witches Dance. Witches Dance. Witches Dance.
Me: (laughs) Witches Dance?
Liam: You can sing Witches Dance to me?
Me: Witches Dance??
Liam: Yah. Witches Dance. You know 'da words?
Me: No Liam. I don't think I do know the words. Witches? Dance?
Liam: You DO know the words. Witches! Dance! Sing it to me.
Me: (thinks) (thinks) (thinks) Buddy, do you mean Witches Brew?? (a book we read at Halloween time)
Liam: (very indignant) You DO know the words!! Witches! Dance! Sing it to me!
Me: Uhhhhhh
Liam: You know? Witches dance, one republic?
Me: Oh yes! I do know.
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for "witches dance", one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all"
Liam: See you did know 'da words.
Me: You're right and I'll sing it to you anytime you want.
PS- He is incredibly proud to show you those wild chives he found in the photo above.
Um- that is pretty much the most incredible thing I have heard in a long time, Nate and I are in stitches! I can't wait to read this to the kids :-) Liam- you are so adorable! Thanks for my pics bud! We miss you and love you!! Can't wait to see you!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you need to send that in to Parent magazine!
ReplyDeleteSo cute. I was laughing out loud by the end.
ReplyDeleteHA! You definitely need to send that to Reader's Digest or a Parents magazine!
ReplyDeleteEmmalise loved this too! I had to give her the Pledge of Allegiance primer though. Forgot that my kids probably aren't as familiar! She got it though and they both loved the pic!
ReplyDeleteLove it too! Definitely should share with one of the mags...RD pays! Have a great day! Love, Nana
ReplyDeleteLove it! I totally just did a post about 'funny/cute' things my 3-year-old is saying these days. I guess we are on the same wave-length!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I LOVE your PIF project! I just visited the FreeRice site. And I love the story about letting the sisters go together...and then getting yelled at by the mom. Good for you for letting that part of the situation go. We can't let others' actions affect how we choose to live life, right?
I look forward to reading more!
@ Annie: I love your post too. It slayed me with "I am an American.".
ReplyDeleteNot letting others affect me and my mood. It's a lesson I re-learn on a daily basis. But, it's worth re-learing. :)
