Review/Giveaway (Just Dance Kids)-CLOSED

At BlogHer '10 there was a fantastically large booth sponsored by Ubisoft that was always busy with fellow BlogHers dancing and gyrating and working off those fabulous lunches. I never got up the nerve to shake my booty in front of 2,500 of my new favorite bloggers, but I did make a point to whiz over to that end of the exhibit hall a few times each day to take in all the fun. The video game on display at the conference was Just Dance 2 for the Wii.

Let's be honest--I am not a game player in general and certainly not a video game player, but I could not get this game and the ridiculously good time people seemed to be having out of my head. I just had to play this game. So, I sent off a note to Ubisoft and learned that just last month they put out a kids version called Just Dance Kids and I was offered the chance to test it out. WooHoo!

It has taken me a full month to test it out since each of the three kids (mine included) in our son's group of friends was hit with one illness or another and this was the first time we could get the three little dudes together. They were stoked at the idea of a video game, and did a decent job of sharing the remotes, and they had a blast. They interpreted the dance moves in a slightly different way then they were portrayed on screen. (They are young for this game at 2 1/2.) But they did get that the point was to move and smile and have a genuinely awesome time while their parents flailed about in the background to "The Ants Go Marching", "ABC's", "Celebration" and more.

We had a great time.

The kids had a great time.

And, we all got up and moving which is a lesson I want to impart to my son early. I love that the Wii and Just Dance Kids got us all grooving and shaking and having a great time interacting with the TV and with each other.

If you are looking for an extra fun time this holiday season I'd HIGHLY recommend both Just Dance 2 and Just Dance Kids.
