Isn't it amazing how a song can transport you back in time to a moment, a place, a time long forgotten?
For me it's not just songs, but scents and flavors too. When 1.800.Flowers contacted me to review the Holiday Mint Meltaways, I was happy to check them out. Little did I know that when I opened the box it would transport me back to a time and a place I didn't anticipate. The second I opened the shipping box, but before I opened the Meltaways themselves I was overcome with memories of Middle School and High School. I was shocked to find that the simple scent of these delicious chocolate mint squares could take me back to winters in the mid-west, to angst and joy--to a town that I haven't been back to in years. It was an unexpected holiday present all in itself.
The Meltaways are delicious and the perfect host/hostess gift for you next holiday party. Each little Meltaway is individually presented in it's own paper cup, which makes for a cute holiday display. I put these out on a simple plate when we had friends over the other night and before I knew it, I had a cute little arrangement. Simple, elegant, tasty...and my husband declared that if I didn't want them to be "all gone" when I got home from work the other night, that I had to take them with me. They are that good, and that addictive and at $22.99 a box they won't break the bank.
Want to win some to take to your next holiday party? Or to give as a gift (even if it's for yourself)?

My favorite holiday treat is home made tollhouse cookies. I only make them once a year (because they mean christmas to me) and are super yummy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite scent of the season is the smell of baking cookies (do you see a trend here?). The whole house smells yummy. Banana bread is good too. My house smells like the houses on the tv cooking shows look like they smell.
ReplyDeleteI'm already a follower!
ReplyDeleteHard to narrow it down to one treat, but one of my favorites is a cookie my grandmother used to make. They were almond shortbreads rolled in powdered sugar. The thing I love about them, besides the taste, is how they squeak on your teeth when you chew them!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday scent is balsam. I loved those little balsam souvenir pillows we had as a kid. The smell is fabulous and reminds me of childhood and all things Christmasy, especially going out in the snow to cut down the tree.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday treat are my aunts almond cookies that are an almond shortbread cookie filled with lots of divine almond frosting. I am usually a chocolate person, and I love fudge filled cookies, but these take the cake!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday scent is fudge cooking on the stove. Breathing in that chocolate goodness at such an intense level is intoxicating!!
ReplyDeleteI facebooked it!
ReplyDeleteI follow on FB!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Christmas treats is ribbon candy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite smell of Christmas is cinnamon.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday treat has to be egg nog! Followed by a close second to white chocolate peppermint bark! I've been able to resist each of these so far, but after Thanksgiving, I do believe it's on! nicollelynnmartin@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday scent is vanilla! I can smell it in the cookies, smell it in the casseroles and in the fabulous candles that come out this time of year! nicollelynnmartin@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI sent a link on facebook to my friends!
