Review: (S'mores)

S'mores! I hadn't thought about them in a long time and then *poof* there they were at BlogHer in this super fancy tricked out suite. They had redone the whole room and had set it up so people could toast marshmallows over a campfire, a grill, a S'more maker, etc. all inside a hotel suite. Here my BlogHer buddy Jen and I were toasting in style. Good stuff!
I have to say that I really don't think that there is anything quite so delicious as the slightly crunchy caramelized outer shell of an ooey gooey marshmallow laid on top of a piece of milk chocolatey sweet goodness and then smooshed in between two crispy crunchy graham crackers. As you can see here though, Liam is more of an a la carte guy. No matter how you like 'em, they're just too good not to have a second.

We had a great time getting reacquainted with S'mores and decided to do them "urban style" (read: over the grill). And, the great folks at S'mores provided us some uber-fantastic skewers. I think Tim and I were just as excited about the skewers as we were about making the S'mores. They have rounded ends like a "u" so your marshmallow doesn't go sliding off into the fire if it gets too gooey in the middle before you are done roasting.

  3. I think I would try caramel if I could add an extra ingredient. Doesn't that sound good?

  4. Extra ingredient? I would totally say either ice cream for a Smore Sundae, or peanut butter. Messi-licious.

  5. Now I'm craving S'mores! Instead of chili maybe that's what I'll make for Chris. ;)~ My favorite part of the S'more is the Marshmellows! Marshmellows are where it's at in S'mores. 100%

  6. I think Strawberries would be really good as the "Extra Ingredient." Sounds delish to me. I would've made frequent trips/exscuses to that booth throughout your day at the conference.. "Ahh, I need more information. :Makes S'more:, "I just came back to see how many calories are in these! :Makes S'more:, etc. hehehe. ;)

  8. What extra ingredient would I add? Nuts of course! Not sure how, maybe a Hershey's with Almonds. :)

  9. Favorite part of a s'more? I'm a graham cracker fan all the way. But it's the taste and texture combo that make this a cool treat - and the fact you just don't get them very often!

  10. While my favorite thing about the smore is the combination of the 3 ingredients, if I have to pick just one I'll pick the graham cracker, but only if it is cinnamon. ~Alisyne

  13. I probably wouldn't add anything. But one time I used a chocolate covered graham cracker.

  17. Because we were big campers growing up, I've tried some interesting additions! My favorites: peanut-butter cups or a caramellow bar... <3
