Song-A-Long: Day 1

"A favorite song."

I'm not a favorite song kind of girl. Yet, this is the song that we played and sang to Liam constantly when we were finally able to come home from the hospital. This particular version is the one I would play when Tim went back to work and I was home with this precious baby that the universe trusted me with. It chokes me up now, listening and envisioning the laptop on the kitchen table playing music and me walking around trying on this new outfit called motherhood.

I remember openly sobbing when my parents left and then even more as Tim left to go back to work. This song brought me back to the present, to this teeny little boy that I loved but I never knew I'd love this much. It centered me often that first year and I haven't listened to it much since... I'll have to fix that.
