Best Damn Cookie Recipe, EVER!

In case you haven't heard, Christmas is right around the corner.

In fact we're hosting an intimate Christmas party here this evening.

With a gazillion things on your schedule this season and holiday parties a plenty, you must find time to make a batch of these delicious cookies.

My mother won a stove in a cooking contest with them for crying out loud.

Honest, they're awesome squared. In fact, maybe that's what we should call them from now on.

So without further ado here is the recipe for my mother's award winning Carmelitas.

Carmelitas

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups quick oats
1 1/8 cups brown sugar
1 1/8 cups caramel ice cream topping
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cups chopped walnuts
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
4 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 cup margarine, melted

Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and margarine to form crumbs. Press half the mixture into a lightly sprayed 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for ten minutes. Sprinkle with the chocolate chips and nuts. Mix the caramel ice cream topping and flour and drizzle over the top. sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for another 15 to 20 minuets. Chill and cut into bars.

Enjoy!
