Capture the Everyday: A Feature You Love About Your Home

This week we were to "capture" an element of our home that we love. I chose this painting that we have above our bed. Our bed is only about 8 inches from the floor and we opted for a low headboard as well so that we could use this as our "headboard". I love that it's one of the last things I look at before I go to sleep.  It's so calming.

And, I love that little guy that insisted he be present in the photo!

Capture the Everyday is about getting you to capture those everyday moments in your life! Each Thursday, I’ll issue a simple challenge to capture something that’s a part of your daily life. You can post just a picture or add some words to go along with it. You’ll have a week to get it done and then I’ll issue another. It’s a quick, easy way to start capturing those little parts of life we sometimes take for granted.

    @Kelli: Oh, I so should. I was planning to take a picture of the one in our living room which is triple the size of this one and is shoreline rocks instead of icebergs. Hmmm...maybe I'll find a way. Grin.

    What a beautiful painting! I imagine it has super magical calming effects... especially seeing that your little one seems so relaxed on the bed. ha!

    What a creative photo! And I love the picture. I want to frame a few cool photographs I've found for our house. This is good motivation.

    This photo totally cracks me up! Your little one is adorable. And that painting is so calming. Love the modern, minimalist approach. Just the think to make a bedroom relaxing.

    He cracks me up, 99% of the pictures he was a blurry jumping bean and then poof he laid down in this one.

    Serenity now! I actually have a serious fascination with ice, snow, and anything polar. Love the painting (looks like a picture!)

    Our headboard is currently one of the bedroom walls. We've been married for almost nine years and still haven't picked out a grown-up bed.

    I like the idea of making the art the focus rather than a huge panel of wood or metal.

    That painting is stunning. Love that the art is the focus instead of some stuffy headboard. Is that an Ikea Malm bed? Think that's the same one we have (lol).

    Gotta love your little one's pose too! He's cute!

    @ Fadra: It's totally a picture and not a painting. I have no idea where/why we started calling it a painting. I actually remember trying to make sure I didn't call it that in the post, and I did anyway. *laughs*

    @ Alexia: Yep, IKEA Malm bed. The fact that it's a King size and our little guy is taking so much of it--makes me a little sad. Stop. Growing.
