  1. I really enjoy Wally Lamb's books and Stieg Larsson's books. The Help and Water for Elephants are a couple of my favorites as well. I like a good book recommendation!

  3. wow I haven't read any of those books. My favorite book to recommend to anyone is by Alexander Mcall Smith called "the Finer point of sausage dogs" no one has been dissappointed yet by reading it.

he wrote all the 1st womans detective agency books which by the way I was horribly dissapointed that they cancelled the tv serious after one year it was really good. Currently reading a book by him called "the careful use of compliments"

  4. @ StampMouse: What's the "sausage dogs" book about? And, who wrote the second one? The second one sounds right up my alley.

  5. I am totally intrigued with your list because I've read a few of those and they fall on the spectrum from absolutely HATING the book to absolutely LOVING the book. Now I'm wondering if I would love or hate the rest of the list.

  6. @ Michelle: So, I've got to know. Which did you love? Which did you hate?

Then maybe I can tell you which might be more like the ones you love. :)

  7. I LOVED the Help and Water for Elephants. My top 5 books are The Sparrow, Marley and Me, The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks, Angels and Demons, and the Hunger Game Series.

I have also enjoyed reading James Patterson's Women's Murder Club Series and most of Nicholas Sparks books (just as an easy read).

Always looking for new and interesting books, so thanks for the list! ~ Alisyne

  8. A very strange book we read for Book Club that EVERYONE loved was Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Foer. If you like historical stuff, I loved The Poisoner's Handbook. And if you don't have a queasy stomach, Stiff: The Curious Lives of Cadavers was very interesting. I'm looking forward to reading that Battle Hymn book!--Julia

  9. @ Julia: Mary Roach who wrote Packing for Mars also wrote Stiff. I love her writing, but could only make it through about 30 pages of Stiff. Glad it was good. I'll have to check out your other recommendations.

I should also read The Enders Game since EVERYONE asks me if I have read it because of my last name.
